A blend of cetyl and stearyl fatty alcohols used as an emollient and emulsifier. Like cetyl alcohol, it conditions rather than dries skin. CIR confirmed safety in 1988 and reaffirmed it in 2005 — non-mutagenic, non-irritating, and well tolerated by all skin types.
